What is Frictionless Living?
Frictionless Living is exactly that – without friction. No thoughts of criticism, shoulds, ought to’s, I wished I had of’s. How is this achieved? By first agreeing with the Universe you would like to participate in its Frictionless Living program. When you come into agreement with the timelessness of this program, you enter the stream of no resistance. Allowing yourself to be carried forth by this stream takes awareness, trust and faith. Your inner control freak has to go on an indefinite sabbatical! With frictionless Living you let go of everything that creates friction in
your life and allow the Universe to manifest itself through you – frictionlessly.
Friction Creating Thoughts
The constant barrage of ego thoughts running though your mind is what creates frictioned living. For instance. A thought such as, “Where will the money come from for me to make the car payment this month?” sets up a friction and stops or slows down the flow of the money required to pay the car payment. When you discover yourself having thoughts that create friction, take a moment to feel in your body what that thought feels like. Can you feel the friction it sets up in your body? This friction from the thought translates into your body and causes stress, which if not addressed creates dis-ease. Rather than create dis-ease and illness in your life, choose the Frictionless Living approach.
It Doesn’t Matter
Tell yourself that the thought of where will you get the money for the upcoming car payment (or your situation of choice) doesn’t matter. Notice what you feel in your body after telling that thought it doesn’t matter. Is there a feeling of greater relaxation? A feeling of letting go of something? Or perhaps, a sense of peace? Whatever the new feeling of relief is, give thanks for it.
It is important to anchor this new feeling of frictionlessness into your body so it remembers what frictionless is and can remain in that place of ease for increasingly longer periods of time. We do this by using the Brain Gym® movement called Hook-Ups.
Hook Ups
Cross your feet at the ankles. Cross your hands at the wrists, with thumbs pointing toward the floor, hands palm to palm. Interlace your fingers, bend your elbows and wrists and bring your interlaced fingers up to rest on your chest. Sit back, touching the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth just behind your upper teeth and gently breathe. Sit in this relaxed posture as long as needed. It could be a minute, two minutes or more. There is no “right” amount of time for sitting in Hook Ups. When your hands and feet begin to want to uncross by themselves, allow them to do so. Once your hands and feet are uncrossed, bring your hands together, touching the fingertips of one hand to the fingertips of the other. (My younger clientele has dubbed these “spider push-ups”). Hold this until your hands are ready to disengage. You have now anchored your new way of being frictionless into your body around the chosen issue and can now experience Frictionless Living more often. Repeat as often as the friction-making thoughts occur. You may find yourself doing this frequently until your body-mind system gets the message that you choose only to engage in Frictionless Living. Enjoy the stream of possibilities this presents as you create from Clear Mind instead of friction-based mind.

A simple Brain Gym technique you can use is to sit in “Hook-Ups” to relax the brain body system and encourage the creative ideas to flow. Sit with feet crossed at the ankles. Extend your arms straight out in front of you, hands turned back-to-back, palms facing outward, thumbs down. Cross one hand over the other so the palms are now together. Interlace fingers, bend elbows, allowing your crossed hands to rest lightly on your chest. Breath normally, holding this posture until the fingers want to unlace and/or the feet uncross. Uncross hands and feet and lightly touch fingertips together until they feel like separating. This completes the Hook-Ups process. Notice how there is a greater sense of calm and stillness within you. This place of stillness is where the creative ideas come from. Using this technique on a daily basis, as many times as you choose, will give you the creative edge you have been searching for.

Steps To Positive Action With Brain Gym®
Are you aware that you tell yourself hundreds of stories each day, most of them untrue?
Every time you tell yourself these untrue stories, you reinforce their neural pathways in you brain so that you can continue to act out the stories and make them true for you no matter how uncomfortable their outcomes are.
Do you tell yourself the story that you are not as good as... ?
How about the story that you don’t have the resources you believe you need in order to take action on that important project?
Or here’s a standard one, “There is never enough money/time”.
You get the picture. These are meaningless stories because they have nothing to do with the richness of who you truly are. These are stories your family, church, school, society and so on told you about yourself. You repeatedly tell yourself these untrue stories on an ongoing, unconscious basis which then creates a world of fear, misery and lack of choice leading to poor self-esteem and lack of positive action in your life.
Are you ready to stop the stories? Are you ready to create healthy new neural pathways in the brain so you can live the life you are wanting to live free of all the side effects the untrue stories create? If your answer is “yes”, then you are ready for a simple Brain Gym movement that supports you in creating healthy responses to the stories and change how you respond to them. Eventually the stories no longer run your life.
1. First become aware of the fact you are doing
this. Spend a few days just
noticing the stories you tell yourself.
Jot them down. Do you see
a pattern? Often, there is a
repeating pattern that you keep reinforcing over and over again.
For example, every time you see something you would like to have, do you
tell yourself the story titled, ‘I can’t afford it”?
When you see someone experiencing success, do you pull out the story
“It’s because they are smarter/richer/better connected (fill in the
blank) than I am”?
Or, “I’ll never be able to…”
2. Once you have become aware of your stories, take the following simple steps:
As you hear yourself reciting an untrue story, say to yourself, “This is just a story and it doesn’t matter” while doing the Brain Gym movement described next.
With the thumb and index finger of one hand, gently rub the soft tissue just below your collarbone on either side of your breast bone. In Brain Gym these are called “Brain Buttons”. Place the palm of your other hand over your navel. Do this for less than a minute, or until you feel complete. Sometimes you may find yourself taking a big inhale and letting out a big exhale. That is a sign your body has made the change.
What does this do? You may have noticed by now that all the stories you tell yourself are fear-based. Rubbing the Brain Buttons disperses the fear, allowing you to move out of rear brain survival behavior and into your fore brain where you make choices. Holding your hand over your navel brings you back to your balanced center. Once the fear is dispersed, you are able to access higher brain functions and take positive action. The more positive actions you take, the more you create new, healthy neural pathways in the brain for optimal life functioning.
3. Notice how you feel once you have “canceled” your subscription to that story. Perhaps there is a greater sense of well-being, or an increased sense of relaxation and/or mental clarity. Perhaps you feel the blockages that story created are no longer an issue and you can now see how take positive action.
Whatever it is you have experienced in evolving the old story, take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate this new way of being free of the false story and stepping into the greater fullness of who you are.
Repeat this process as often as necessary. It just takes a few moments to erase the untruths you have up until now believed were true about you. Enjoy the freedom you will experience as your burden of untruths becomes lighter and lighter!
